House robber captured in Molweni

“This is a testimony that our members will make sure that the perpetrators of crime are brought to book during this festive season,” said the Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni.

AT midnight on Saturday, 7 November, a man was asleep inside his house in Molweni when he was awoken by the sound of a door being forced open.

Upon investigating, he was approached by four unidentified suspects. One of the suspects produced a firearm and robbed him of cash and airtime vouchers at gunpoint.

The suspects then fled the scene on foot. A case of house robbery was opened for investigation at Hillcrest SAPS. Members of the Pinetown Trio Crime Unit took over the investigation and apprehended the suspect.

The 21-year-old alleged was placed under arrest while in his house at Molweni on Monday, 9 November.

The other remaining alleged robbers are still being sought by police.
