UPDATE: Grade 12 pupil regains consciousness after crash

A 19-YEAR-OLD Westville Boys’ High School pupil was rushed to hospital after an accident on the M13 east-bound near Dawncliffe.

According to ER24, when paramedics attended to him, they found he had sustained serious injuries when the vehicle rolled and they found him several metres away from the car.

The vehicle was lying on its side.

The pupil was driving himself to write the engineering graphics and design exam, with his friend driving behind, him when he lost control of his vehicle.

According to the school’s deputy principal, Nestor Pierides, “He was unconscious but has since regained consciousness.”

The teenager will require reconstructive surgery.
