One motorist killed in M13 accidents

The deceased is believed to be in his early 40s.

A man believed to be about 40 years old was killed when he lost control of the vehicle he was driving on the M13 in Field’s Hill this afternoon.

“When we arrived on scene we found the bakkie on its roof in the middle of the road,” said Derrick Banks, ER24. The driver was still in the vehicle.

Sadly there was nothing paramedics could do for him. He had succumbed to his injuries.

In a separate incident that occurred on the M13 east-bound near Dawncliffe (prior to the incident in Field’s Hill), ER24 paramedics and other emergency services attended to a patient, believed to be 19 years old, who sustained serious injuries when the vehicle rolled.

When paramedics arrived on scene they found the patient several metres away from the car. The vehicle was lying on its side.

The cause of the incident is unknown. Authorities were on scene to investigate.
