Man (35) arrested for murder in Embo

It was the Hillcrest SAPS's quick response that led to the arrest of the murder suspect.

HILLCREST police arrested a 35-year-old man for murder in Embo on Saturday.

According to the Hillcrest SAPS communications officer, “It is alleged that the man had a fight with the victim in the early hours of the morning on Saturday, 7 November, which ended up with the suspect stabbing the victim (39) several times. The victim was stabbed in the chest and under the armpit.”

Manqele said the victim was declared dead on the scene by paramedics. A case of murder was opened at the Hillcrest police station.

“Due to the quick response of the police, the man was arrested on the scene after he tried to flee on foot.”

The Hillcrest station commander commended the police for their quick arrest.
