Quiet Guy Fawkes experienced by Kloof SPCA

The after-hours emergency number received only two calls last night.

THE Kloof and Highway SPCA is pleased to report that Guy Fawkes was a quiet night for staff and volunteers.

The SPCA was open last night from 6pm to 9pm and all inspectors were on standby with vehicles. The after-hours emergency number received only two calls last night, and five stray dogs were brought into the standby kennels. Of the five dogs that came in last night, one dog has been happily re-united with its owners last night and one dog has a collar with a disc.

“We would like to thank our community for exercising responsibility with the loud bangs that frighten the animals. Every year, the Kloof and Highway SPCA appeals to the community to prepare and to take steps to protect their pets during the fireworks season, and we will continue to do so,” said Lisa Gadd from the SPCA.
