Fun run supported by young and old

Now in its seventh year, this event has become an important fundraiser for the needy.

THE House of Prayer’s 5km Fun Run was well-attended with runners and supporters enthusiastically supporting the event.

The male winner, with a new course record of 15.29, was Thabiso Ngalonkulu, while the winning female was Pam Rasmussan in a time of 27.07.

The youngest participant was four-year-old Wesley Bezuidenhout; oldest man was 72-year-old Erol Lourens, and oldest lady rider was Hester Bekker (80).

For the past sixteen years, the House of Prayer has hosted Christmas parties for approximately 1 600 underprivileged children in 30 rural communities across KZN and the Transkei. The HOP Fun Run, now in its seventh year, has become an important fundraiser to supply goodies for these parties.
