THREE men robbed a shop on Arundel Road in Hillary on Thursday, 15 October at around 6.45pm.
They produced a firearm and instructed all customers and the cashier to lie down on the floor. The men stole cellphones and cash from the patrons and also removed the hard drive of the CCTV footage.
On Friday, 16 October, five men, armed with firearms, entered a liquor store in Bellair and stole a total of R14 000. They held up the customers and the cashier and took R11 000 cash and an additional R4 000 worth of liquor from the store. The customers were also searched by the men, who were able to steal cash, cellphones and also two cars from them.
Det W/O Mike Chamane said the matter is under investigation. “We are yet to receive video footage which clearly show these suspects in action. We would then extract pictures to expose these men’s faces to the public,” he said.
