The Durban Fire Department used the jaws of life to free one of the passengers who was trapped in the wreckage.

A HEAD-ON collision left four people injured with three of them sustaining serious injuries on Sarnia Road in Bellair on Sunday, 18 October. Rescue Care paramedics arrived on the scene to find the two badly damaged vehicles on the road.

“The paramedics then assessed the injured and found that three patients had sustained serious injuries while the fourth patient sustained minor injuries,” said operations director for Rescue Care, Garrith Jamieson.

The Durban Fire Department used the jaws of life to free one of the passengers, who was trapped in the wreckage. “Once all of the injured had been stabilised on scene they were transported to various hospitals in Durban,” he added. It is unclear what caused the collision. SAPS were on the scene and are investigating.
