Pinetown construction worker in critical condition

The man fell after losing his balance due to strong winds.

A CONSTRUCTION worker was critically injured earlier this morning, 15 October when he fell about seven metres from a wall at a company in Pinetown central.

Paramedics were informed that the man, believed to be 29 years of age, had climbed onto a wall and was about to clip his safety harness onto a steel structure when he lost his balance due to the wind.

“When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found the man lying next to the wall on his back with a first aider attending to him. Paramedics took over and assessed the patient. He sustained critical injuries,” said Chitra Bodasing, ER24 spokesperson.

He was treated and transported to Hillcrest Private Hospital hospital.
