St Mary’s old girls reunite

Past St Mary's pupils got the chance to reunite with old friends and teachers.

One-hundred-and-fifty St Mary’s DSG Old Girls visited the school to reconnect with friends and celebrate their special milestone reunions together.

Old girls from 1943 to 2005 enjoyed a chapel service, tea and updates on the school followed by an Italian lunch. A selection of delicious cakes was generously donated by Chateau Gateaux for dessert.

Some ladies travelled from the UK, Australia and all over South Africa to be reunited with their classmates and teachers, many of whom hadn’t seen each other for decades.

“St Mary’s and the Old Girls’ Guild value this special day as a celebration of the remarkable women who have attended St Mary’s and their life-long friendships,” said Derry Jurgensen, St Mary’s DSG Old Girls’ Guild chairman.
