Mini Miss SA’s Cuppa for CANSA fundraiser

Mini Miss SA's Cuppa for CANSA Princess High Tea fundraiser received an over whelming turn-out, helping the organisation cash in thousands of Rands in donations.

MORE than 150 guests joined Mini Miss South Africa, Katelyn Jordaan, at the Princess High Tea fundraising event for Cuppa for CANSA on Saturday, 25 July.

Even though the weather outside was wet and cold, the atmosphere inside the NG Kerk in Malvern on Jo Naudé Road was warm and felt like sunshine. Jordaan and her team raised a jaw-dropping amount of R113 961 in kind – this was made up of all goods donated, all of which contributed to the event’s success.

“We would like to thank every sponsor that contributed to this event to make it the success it was; without the guests, this would not have been possible,” said the three-year-old’s mother, Chantal. “We were honoured to hand over a cheque to CANSA for R33 374, this amount was made up from all tickets sales, cash donations and raffle tickets sold on the day.

Jordaan and her older sister, Taylor, are ambassadors for CANSA and are actively involved in numerous charity organisations. They strive to achieve what they can to make a difference not only in the lives of others but to bring the community together, working as a team to make a difference and create awareness for those around them.

Each guest received a branded event bag as well as a Cuppa for CANSA mug. The cherry on top: every guest at the event received a lucky draw prize, there were 150 lucky draws. “Once again, thank you for your support,” Chantal added.

The Cuppa for CANSA event is about gathering a any group of people – friends, family, colleagues – and having fun together and of course a ‘cuppa’ of something. It can be hosted by anyone with a passion to make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer. For more information, visit www.cuppa.org.za.
