Eskom app angers mobile users

Eskom's new app is believed to only cater for Android and iPhone users.

THE recent launch of an app that allows residents to view load shedding updates and schedules has sparked concerns among mobile users.

According to a tweet posted by Eskom, yesterday afternoon, the app can only be downloaded by Android and iPhone users.

The electricity parastatal’s attempt to punt the MyEskomApp via social media was met with comments from angry mobile users of other devices who aired their opinion about the app and said everyone uses electricity and everyone deserves the same treatment.

Those who have attempted to use the service, have also expressed their dissatisfaction with the app that is allegedly not precise and fails to load the requested information.

Meanwhile, the power utility added that outages are likely as temperatures around the country are forecast to plummet at the weekend‚ and Eskom has encouraged residents to consider energy efficient ways of keeping warm‚ during the cold weather conditions across the country.
