Robin Hood gives children hope

Children from the rural Shongweni valley were given a morning of treats and memories they wont forget.

The Robin Hood Foundation (RHF) treated 25 children from the Shongweni and Ntshongweni areas to a Hope Breakfast at the Pot ‘n Kettle.

They enjoyed a healthy, nutritious breakfast before playing on the jumping castle, getting their faces painted and getting balloons sculpted for them. Sword balloons were popular with the boys, who then engaged in some mock battles.

The morning was rounded off with new school uniforms, a goodie box from St Elizabeth Church filled with items such as beanies, blankets and biscuits, and a heavy RHF Gogo Bag.

Despite coming from disadvantaged backgrounds, the children all have big dreams, such as one day becoming a lawyer, chartered accountant, policeman and soldier.
