Reach out to Hospice this Mandela Day

Still looking for ways to commemorate Mandela Day? Check out these ideas.

IN keeping with the profound words of Tata Madiba, who once said, “There is no passion to be found playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living,” the Highway Hospice encourages residents to do embark on a charitable initiative this Mandela Day. There are various ways in which you can assist the organisation, which offers its services free of charge.

Free donations: Donate your time and influence to the Highway Hospice. Sixty-seven minutes can count in a number of ways and you need not even leave your home. Share the news about the noble work carried out by the dedicated staff at the hospice and encourage people to support its worthy projects.

Donate R67, R167, R267, R670, R6 767 or more, all from the comfort of your home.

Buy a Snuggie for R67 – Snuggies are filled with special heat-absorbing material, slung into the microwave for two to three minutes, and you have a warm Snuggie to hang around your shoulders, on your neck or on your back, head, leg, foot or hands.

Sponsor a nurse – Sponsor-a-Nurse from Mandela Day 2015 to 2016. Bring your team to visit and meet your nurse and have some tea. She will take you on a tour of the Sherwood unit and answer any questions. You will receive quarterly information as to what she has been doing, and how you have made a contribution.
