SA remains Polocrosse World Champions

SA maintained their title by beating Zambia 32 to 23 goals.

SOUTH Africa maintained their World Championship title when they defeated Zambia 32-23 in an exciting World Cup final at the Durban Shongweni Club on Sunday, 12 July.

Over 5 000 spectators packed the field to watch the two teams battle it out in a fast-paced, thrilling game which included a few spills by horses and riders with luckily no injuries to add to the tension and excitement of the game.

Zambia, which climbed from eighth in the world rankings to number two, gave the South Africans a run for their money, especially after beating them 17-16 earlier on in the tournament.

The overall results were: First, South Africa; second, Zambia; third, Australia; fourth, United Kingdom; fifth, New Zealand; sixth, Zimbabwe; seventh, USA; eighth, Ireland.
