Five injured in Pinetown collision

Local authorities are investigating the cause of a collision which occurred at the Crompton Road and School Road intersection in Pinetown this morning.

FIVE people were injured this morning when a taxi and car collided at the Crompton Road and School Road intersection in Pinetown.

According to the ER24 spokesman, Russel Meiring, paramedics arrived on scene and found the car on the pavement against one of the traffic lights. “The taxi had come to rest against the passenger’s side door of the light motor vehicle. On assessment of the patients, paramedics found that five occupants from the taxi had sustained injuries, ranging from minor to moderate. Fortunately no one had sustained any serious injuries,” he said.

Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries and transported them to St Mary’s Hospital.

None of the occupants from the car sustained any injuries.

Local authorities were on scene and will be investigating the cause of the collision.
