Adventurer talks about surviving an avalanche

Rob Bentley was on Everest when the earthquake struck in April this year.

FRIENDS of Kloof Library Forum will hold its next talk at the Kloof Junior Primary School hall on Wednesday, 24 June at 6pm.

Guest speaker, Rob Bentley, will present a talk titled, Everest 2015 – Surviving the Avalanche!. Rob was on Everest when the earthquake struck in April this year. His extraordinary story of the experiences of the climbers, the sherpas, the inhabitants of Nepal and the devastation caused by the earthquake and subsequent avalanche is one that should not be missed.

Rob has a passion for the outdoors and was so excited to be given a chance to travel to Everest in March. Little did he know what was waiting for him and the rest of the team.

Rob has had a fascinating life and is an adventurer of note. Among other experiences, he spent almost four years sailing the oceans with his family on a yacht that he bought in 2005.

Tickets will be available from Kloof Library (031 764 7543) and cost R50 each or R35 for members of Friends.
