The Great Gatsby National Polo event, held at the Durban Shongweni Club, was an exciting, glamorous affair with the crowds sporting suitable 20s attire and basking in the incredibly warm winter weather.
The final match of the day saw the Mercedes Benz (Gauteng) team – consisting of Brent von Beneka, Guy Slater, Michael John Marlton and Rupert Crowe – take the winning trophy from The Land Rover (KZN) team of James Roberts, Murray Evennett, Geoff Evennett and Gillespie Armstrong, with a final score of 10-7.
