Where to celebrate Youth Day

June 16 is Youth Day - here are some of the events to commemorate the day.

– Commemorate Youth Day at the KZNSA with The Other People’s Free Film Festival, with three short films screening in the Park Gallery this afternoon. Entry is free, and the Arts Café will be open for lunch.

– CityScapes Youth Day dance programme by Siwela Sonke Dance theatre at The Workshop from 11am.

– A Youth Day afternoon programme will be held at The Catalina Theatre at Wilson’s Wharf with Crystal Tryon-Singh.

– There is a special Youth Day matinée performance of Shrek at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre at 1.30pm.

– Blessing Ninela Zone (Wards 2, 8, 9, 10 and 103) are hosting the Joe Mlaba Tournament at Molweni Sports Ground. The tournament will focus on the youth and there will be soccer, netball and chess matches.

– Young people are invited to Berlin (near KK Hall) in KwaDabeka – the event will start at 11am and there will be guest speakers who will motivate the youth to do something resourceful with their time.
