R19 000 raised at music trivia quiz

The Rotary Club of Kloof and Kloof Country Club raised R19 000 for the Kloof Rest Home and the country club at the music and show trivia quiz recently.

MUSIC lovers of all ages enjoyed a fun-filled music quiz evening at the Kloof Country Club on Saturday, 30 May.

The event was held by the Rotary Club of Kloof and the Kloof Country Club to raise funds for the Kloof Rest Home and the country club.

According to Richard Bates, the convenor, the music, dinner, auction and raffle were enjoyed by the 200 people who attended. “MC Colin Penn had guests rocking and rolling and singing along to the clues to the questions which he asked. He rolled out humorous gags, eliciting a great deal of laughter between the musical hints,” said Bates.

There were a number of prizes for winning and runner-up teams, as well as a raffle and amusing prizes to keep peoples’ interest up.

“An auction of two paintings, a keyboard, a hamper of liquor to ‘start a bar’ and a six-month membership to Kloof Country Club contributed to the total of R19 000 that was raised,” added Bates.

He concluded that, since the event proved to be so enjoyable and was able to raise funds for a worthy cause, a follow-up event is definitely on the cards.
