Jenna wins Miss Mini Teen KZN crown

Jenna O'Brien won the titles for Miss Mini Teen KZN and the first princess for Miss Mini Teen SA at the Miss Junior SA pageant recently.

WESTVILLE’S teen, Jenna O’Brien, stunned audiences when she walked away with two titles at the Miss Junior SA pageant in Pretoria from 29 April to 3 May.

Jenna was named Miss Mini Teen KZN and the first princess for Miss Mini Teen SA. She also received certificates for best interview overall, best circus outfit and the public’s choice for best dressed evening wear.

“My aim was to win the Miss KZN pageant, but being named first princess in SA was a bonus,” said Jenna.

She added that the competition was tough this year as she competed against 17 girls in her age group (11-12 years) category. Six of those entrants were from KZN. Four judges evaluated her category and the girls competed in casual wear, evening-wear, theme outfit and interview.

The Grade 7 pupil from Westville Senior Primary School said she plans to do a lot of charity work this year. The Baby House in Westville is her number one priority, but she also wants to be a good ambassador for her school, community and KZN.

Her dress, a beautiful blue feathered number, was sponsored by Vernon Faul. She had been training for this pageant for the last eight months with modelling coach, Shaun Stander from Mobile Model Management. She thanked Shaun, her family and friends for their support throughout the competition. With a great team behind her, she dreams of wearing the Miss SA crown one day.
