Hold on for another fuel hike

The AA is warning of another fuel hike of between 48 cents and 52 cents a litre in June.

MOTORISTS will have to tighten their belts another notch in June when a further hike in the price of petrol is expected. According to the Automobile Association of South Africa (AA), the price of petrol is expected to rise between 48 cents and 52 cents a litre, with diesel increasing between 52 cents and 56 cents a litle. Illuminating paraffin will increase by 50 cents a litre.

According to the AA, the fuel price is being forced up by increases in international petroleum prices. It said that despite some price stability, a substantial appreciation in either the exchange rate or international pricing would be required to maintain the current price of petrol come month end.
