Four children injured in taxi accident

Seven people were injured when a taxi rolled near Mariannhill.

SEVEN people, including four children, were injured on Monday afternoon when a taxi rolled on a district road near Klaarwater in Mariannhill.

ER24 spokesman, Russel Meiring, said paramedics responded to the scene and found the taxi near the Intake Road.

“The taxi was lying on its side in the veld next to the road. Paramedics found that seven people, including four children aged between two and five, had sustained minor injuries when the taxi rolled. Fortunately no-one had sustained any serious injuries.”

Paramedics treated the patients on scene for their injuries and thereafter transported them to St Mary’s Hospital.

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene to investigate.
