Three injured in Westville trucks accidents

Police will investigate the cause of two truck accidents in Westville.

THREE people were injured on Tuesday morning in two separate accidents in Westville.

One accident happened just before 9am on the N3 Durban bound, opposite the Pavilion.

According Rescue Care’s  Garrith Jamieson, a truck driver was injured after his truck veered off the road.

“Paramedics found that the truck driver had somehow lost control before leaving the busy highway up the bank. The driver sustained moderate injuries, he was stabilized on the scene and then transported to hospital,” said Jamieson.

Two people were injured when a truck rolled onto its side in Spine Road near Westville Prison, just before midday.

Jamieson said the truck was lying on its side after the driver lost control and the truck overturned on the bend.

“Paramedics found both the driver and passenger had sustained minor injuries. They were both stabilised on the scene and taken to hospital,” he said.

The cause of both the accidents it still unclear and SAPS will be investigating.
