You can now report xenophobic incidents online

ReportXenophobia is an online reporting tool that you can use to log xenophobic incidents.

Pan-African tech news and analysis site iAfrikan has stepped up in the fight against xenophobia in South Africa by creating ReportXenophobia, an online reporting tool that people can use to log xenophobic incidents. This follows weeks of xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.

The system provides a real-time reporting and alerting tool for incidents of xenophobia across the country by collecting information from the general public using either SMS, e-mail, online form and Twitter.

Reports are placed onto a map after verification and shared periodically with organizations that may find the information useful such as the South African Police Service.

The general public may also view the maps to be aware of high risk areas in real-time. iAfrikan encourages the public to provide clear and accurate reports to help in the united fight against xenophobia.

Users may also subscribe to receive alerts of verified reports from the system. Visit ReportXenophobia  here.
