Forest Hills woman held hostage, assaulted by armed robbers

Three armed men held up a Forest Hills resident and ransacked her house last week.

AN ELDERLY woman was attacked in her Forest Hills Road home on Friday evening by three armed men. According to a post on the Waterfall Crime Watch Facebook page, the men tied the woman up with cables and dish cloths.

They then proceeded to ransack the victim’s house. The men allegedly stole money, two cellphones, bank cards and jewellery.

The post further stated that the men asked the woman for guns and Kruger Rands. They allegedly took her bank card and pin and went to a Nedbank ATM while she was held hostage.

One of men hit the victim on her head with a gun when she gave them the wrong pin. They also attempted to steal her car, but the alarm was activated when they smashed into a tree. The men, who were believed to be well-spoken, escaped on foot towards Juluka Farm.

This attack comes after a family, also in Forest Hills, was tied up and robbed by armed men on Thursday.
