The Ladybird Foundation spreads some Easter cheer

There was an overwhelming response to the plea for Easter eggs.

There was an overwhelming response to The Ladybird Foundation’s plea for boxes of Easter eggs, with over 35 boxes of marshmallow eggs and over R1 000 in cash being collected in less than a week.

The children at the Fulton School for the Deaf were treated to a morning of Easter fun and games. There was a jumping castle, face painting, a colouring-in competition, Bunny Hopping Contest, a picnic party of chips, sweets and juice and even a visit from a real, live Easter Bunny.

The junior primary children were then treated to an Easter egg hunt, and Easter egg parcels were handed out to the senior primary and high school learners.

“The result was an Easter party these special little people will remember for a long time,” said Bridget Young, one of the founders of The Ladybird Foundation.

There was such a good response to their request for donations that the foundation was able to spread the Easter joy even further, with Easter egg hunts and Easter egg deliveries to the Triad School for special needs children in Pinetown, Little Lambs orphanage in Kloof, Hope House Place of Safety, and Malvern Children’s Home.

“We would like to say a huge thank-you to our Easter Bunny, Russell Fuchs from Momentum Corplco, Hillcrest and for their generous donation, and to Fantasia for donating his bunny costume, and all the generous friends of The Ladybird Foundation. Your continued support and generosity is so appreciated.”
