Man stuck under tree for hours
A local man's calls for help were unheard until his wife arrived at home to find him trapped under a tree he was felling.
A FOREST Hills man was stuck under a tree for more than three and a half hours after it fell on him while he was cutting it down.
A Meditech spokesman said at about 7pm on Wednesday, 1 April, crew received a distress call that a man was felling a tree when the tree fell on him, trapping him underneath by the leg for more than three and a half hours.
The man’s calls for help went unheard until his wife returned home. His wife then called Vema, Meditech and the Gillitts Fire Station for help.
He was stabilised on scene using advanced life support before the tree was lifted by the Fire Department. He was then taken to a nearby hospital.
