Watercrest Mall hosts VIP evening

Watercrest Mall will open its doors to the public on 23 April 2015.

LOCAL media, businesses and corporate clients were invited as guests to Watercrest Mall’s VIP evening on Thursday 26 March.

The event was attended by MEC Belinda Scott, MEC Willies Mchunu and Councilor Logie Naidoo among other VIP’s.

Watercrest Mall invited its guests to tour the mall and familiarise themselves with their impressive tenant offering. Hyena Blue were the talented local entertainment for the evening, lending an upbeat energy to the event. The weather added an exciting element, but certainly didn’t ‘dampen’ any spirits as the festivities continued into the night.

The 45,000sqm complex has been welcomed with open arms, as it will cater for much of the community’s retail needs. Anchored by Super Spar, Checkers, Dischem, Woolworths, Game and Edgars, the centre’s well-planned tenant mix features most of the big national players, some unique line store offerings, the addition of a food court and opening of six Ster Kinekor movie theatres. The centre has been fully let by RVN Properties with around 120 stores on offer.

The impressive construction statistics include: 6.35million bricks used, 4,530 tons of reinforcing, 72,000m2 of plaster, 665 days from start of project phase 1 and total number of staff on site at peak times 1100.

This R700 million development is the brainchild of local family property business The Rowles Group and JSE listed property fund Acucap. Watercrest Mall is earmarked to be a serious player in Durban’s retail sector.

The much anticipated opening of the new Watercrest Mall is now only weeks away, with the opening date on 23 April 2015.
