Hillcrest High School celebrates 40 years

The school is urging the public, past pupils and parents to support the events planned for its 40th anniversary celebrations.

HILLCREST High School is celebrating 40 years of serving the local community this year, and has planned a host of events as part of the celebrations.

The Easter Sports Festival kicks off this weekend, 27 and 28 March, where schools from KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng and one school from The Cape will participate in rugby, netball, and boys’ and girls’ hockey tournaments.

On Friday, 27 March the event will run from 9am to 4pm, and on Saturday, 28 March from 8am to 3pm. All are welcome to attend this event. Refreshments are available throughout the day.

The school’s Reunion Day is on Saturday, 18 April, which comprises a day of sport for pupils in the morning against Richards Bay High School, and past pupils and staff in the afternoon. A reunion dinner that evening will bring past pupils from around the country together to celebrate the success of the school.

The third exciting event is the KZN/Gauteng Rugby Sports Festival from 25 to 27 April. Ten schools each from Gauteng and KZN will compete over the three days.

This year’s friendly clash between Hillcrest High School and Kloof High School, known as Derby Day, will also take place at Hillcrest High in June as part of its celebrations.

The school encourages the public, past pupils and parents to support these events. For more details contact the school on 031 765 1215.
