Vote for Mrs KZN to reach the Mrs SA final

Waterfall resident, Mrs KZN is through to the semi-finals of Mrs SA.

Mrs KZN, Salomé Nel-Gouws from Waterfall, was chosen as one of the top 100 semi-finalists for the Mrs South Africa Pageant.

After a record number of entries, the chosen women from all over South Africa attended a women-empowering workshop held at Emperors Palace, Johannesburg on 7 March.

“I was told on the Wednesday that I had been selected for the workshop on the Saturday. It was very overwhelming, sitting in a room full of beautiful women, but this is something really great – they made all the women feel comfortable, and good about themselves as moms, wives and career women.

“We felt empowered as women, and during the call-back the judges were very helpful with pointing out areas that we needed to improve on.”

After the call-backs the semi-finalists were announced, and Salomé will join the other 100 semi-finalists at the semi-final weekend to be held at Emperors Palace, and will be submitted to gruelling judging sessions by an esteemed panel of judges, headed by Principal Judge, Cindy Nell-Roberts.

“I am very honoured to have been selected, and really looking forward to everything and going as far as I can in this amazing journey.”

This is Salomé’s first time entering Mrs SA, and it has a very special meaning for her as the pageant’s official charity is the Cancer Association of South Africa.

“I have lost a few friends to cancer in the last couple of years, and one of my friend’s wishes was that I enter Mrs SA, so I am doing this in honour of her and the other friends who I have lost to cancer. ”

Twenty-five women will announced as the finalists at the annual CANSA Gala Dinner on 24 April at Emperors Palace’s Centre Court. All proceeds of this event will be donated to the Cancer Association of South Africa.
