Children find foetuses at illegal dumpsite

The 'dead infants' were in fact foetuses preserved in bottles, apparently removed from a medical practice that closed down.

A GROUP of children made a gruesome discovery of seven foetuses at an illegal dumpsite in Mariannhill on Tuesday morning (10 March).

According to a police source, the children were playing at a dumpsite in Desai when they found bottles with foetuses in them.

“The children informed adults of their discovery, who then contacted the police. The foetuses were taken to a mortuary.

“We believe that these foetuses were removed from an old surgery in Desai which closed down a few years ago,” he said.

No case has been opened yet as police are still busy with the investigations.
