Kloof not caught in land invasion saga, says councillor

Local councillor, Rick Crouch, said Wednesday's suspected land invasion in Kloof turned out to be a tender meeting.

AFTER numerous calls to Ward 10 councillor, Rick Crouch, on Wednesday, 4 March about what seemed to be land invasions in Kloof, Crouch said it has been established that the people were gathering for a tender meeting on various sites.

Crouch said those on site during the tender meeting joked with residents who had asked questions about what was going on.

“Although this doesn’t seem to be a land invasion, residents should keep all the contact numbers on their phones should they need them one day.

“They must also vigilant, because my experience with land invasions is that people come in cars and taxis, they do not walk. Most of these land invasions happen over a weekend,” Crouch said.

Contact Metro Police on 031 361 0000, or the land invasion unit on 031 311 4699, 031 311 4701, 031 311 4702 or 031 311 4022, if they notice similar activity.
