Fifth arrest in Pinetown child abduction case

A police source has revealed that the Pinetown child abductors received R2500, not R5000 as was initially reported.

A FIFTH person has been arrested in connection to a child abduction case where a baby was allegedly stolen and sold in Pinetown.
This follows the arrest of four women on Tuesday by the Pinetown Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit.
According to a police source, the husband of one of the women was also arrested and the five were due to appear at the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
While initial report claimed that the baby had been sold for R5000, the source revealed that the amount was in fact R2500.
