Neighbour confirms deceased was threatened

A neighbour of the deceased man whose decomposing body was discovered yesterday afternoon, said he last saw him on Saturday morning.

The neighbour said the deceased ran to his property on Saturday and asked to speak to him. “He came to my house and wanted to speak to me. He told me a group of men were at his house and they were threatening him. I then took my firearm and I escorted him back to his house. As we entered his house the four men fled on foot.

“Copper pipes and a bar fridge had been stolen from his house previously, and I always told him to press the panic button if he was in trouble,” he said.
