Kloof resident hijacked outside home

Gang of hijackers flee with Kloof resident's car.

A KLOOF resident was held up by a gang of hijackers yesterday (Wednesday, 11 February), as she attempted to enter her property. The getaway vehicle was driven by a woman who was involved in the hijacking, which is the third incident to be reported in the Highway area in the past week.
Brian Jackson, Blue Security operations manager, said the resident arrived home around 11.40am and was in her driveway in Buckingham Road, pressing the intercom to enter the property, when the hijackers pounced.
“Two hijackers approached her and demanded the keys to her Ford Echo Sport, which she handed over, and the men then fled in her car, along with a woman who was driving a white Toyota RunX with no registration plates,” he said.
“The resident was not injured during the incident and it was not clear whether or not the gang was armed. Her handbag, a camera and iPad, as well as other valuables, were in the vehicle.”
Hillcrest SAPS attended the scene of the crime.
