Sports club supports charity
PDAC and Lahee Park bowling club fundraise for the Robinhood Foundation.
THE Robinhood Foundation was fortunate to receive two cheques from the Lahee Park bowling club and Pinetown Districts Athletic Club (PDAC).
Both clubs recently held fundraising events for Robinhood.
On Friday, 23 January the bowling club hosted a corporate fun bowls challenge in which companies were invited to join this worthy cause.
Pierre Theron from the bowling club said the purpose of the day was not only to raise funds but also to promote bowls as a sport.
“Many people are not familiar with bowls and they have a perception that it is for old people, which is not true.
“Young people can also join us and experience this fun game,” said Theron.
On Sunday, 25 January PDAC also held their annual 25km race from Waterfall to Pinetown. More than 1 400 runners took to the streets.
The bowling club hosts twilight trips every Friday afternoon. New bowlers are welcomed to join and learn the game.
