Shongweni crash leaves one dead

ONE person was killed while three others were seriously injured in an accident on the bridge over the N3 in Shongweni on Saturday. According to Netcare 911’s media liaison officer, Chris Botha, paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found the roadway obstructed with accident debris and the twisted frames of a bus and a car. “The driver of the car died before our arrival. After paramedics stabilised the seriously wounded patients at the scene they transported them to various hospital,” said Botha.

The exact cause of the accident and preceding events will be investigated further.
