Judge Combrinck to enlighten Kloof residents

Judge Peter Combrinck will enlighten and inform the community of the finer details of what Dolus Eventualis actually means.

FORMER Supreme Court of Appeals Judge, Peter Combrinck, will give a talk entitled Dolus Eventualis at the Kloof Junior Primary School in Ableia Road on Wednesday, 11 February at 6pm.
Peter Combrinck has his educational background at Pretoria Boys’ High, the University of Pretoria and the University of Natal. He has gathered vast legal experience from the days of being an attorney and then advocate, senior counsel, Supreme Court Judge, the Labour Appeal Court and on to the highest court in South Africa – the Supreme Court of Appeal. He currently is chairman of the Bids Appeal Board.
In December, Judge Masipa granted prosecutors leave to appeal against the controversial acquittal on murder charges of Oscar Pistorius in the matter of the shooting of Reeva Steenkamp. This appeal will challenge Judge Masipa’s interpretation of the law in the matter of Dolus Eventualis. The Supreme Court of Appeals has the power to overturn her verdict, which would have a considerable impact on the length of incarceration of Oscar Pistorius.
Don’t miss this opportunity to hear Judge Peter Combrinck enlighten and inform the community of the finer details of what Dolus Eventualis actually means.
Tickets are available from the Kloof Library at R35 for Friends members and R50 for the public. To book your seat contact 031 764 7543.
