Dagga worth R75 000 recovered in Pinetown

Police arrested a 29-year-old man who was found in possession of a dagga with a street value of R75 000.

DAGGA with a street value of R75 000 was recovered in Pinetown yesterday.

Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Cst Phindile Radebe, said on Tuesday at about 11.30am an intelligence-driven operation by Chatsworth Crime Intelligence Unit led to the arrest of a 29-year-old man on charges of possession of dagga in Pinetown.

“Police received information about the dagga and proceeded to an address in Union lane, Pinetown.

“They searched the premises, and ‘skunk’ dagga with the street value of approximately R75 000, as well as R4 700 cash, was found,” said Radebe.

One man was arrested and charged with possession of dagga. He is to appear in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court.
