Gelofte achieves 100 per cent pass rate

Gelofte School's 2014 Grade 12 pupils score 100 per cent pass rate for the school.

THE Highway area’s only Afrikaans school, Gelofte School, has yet again achieved a 100 per cent pass rate for the 2014 matric exams.

The school’s principal, Danie Strydom, said in his 16 years at the school there has only been one year that the school didn’t have a 100 per cent pass rate. Since 2008 the school has achieved a 100 per cent pass rate.

Chantelle van Aswegen was the school’s top performer, with five distinctions. She received A’s for Afrikaans, English, life orientation, life sciences and accounting. She received B’s for her other two subjects.

Of the 49 Grade 12 pupils who wrote the 2014 exams, 35 passed with a Bachelor’s pass.

“We congratulate our matrics of 2014 and wish them the best of luck for their future endeavors,” Strydom said.
