Focus on iThemba Academy held their annual prize giving at the school campus on Friday, 5 December.

The event was opened by Chief Operations Officer, Gavin Kruger before the 64 excited Grade R to Grade 3 children did a superb performance of song and dance directed by the Academy’s Sarah Sherwood. Weeks of practice culminated in the children delighting the audience with their beautiful voices and humourous escapades on stage.

Proceedings then moved on to the acknowledgement of the various achievements of each and every child at the school.

“One can truly appreciate the progress of the children in our school by looking back to when they first started here”, said Sue Sage, principal of the iThemba Academy.

The pupils were very excited to be awarded for all their hard work and commitment to the school and were chuffed with some of the novel looking trophies.

Some of the top prize winners were Kwando Majola who received the Christian Values and Knowledge Award; Minenhle Phewa was awarded for Good Character and Lundelo Dladla was proud of his Leadership Award.
