Umgeni Steam Railway books additional run
If you missed the opportunity to book your seat on Umgeni Steam Railway's annual Carols by Candlelight journey, don't despair. There is another train run on Sunday, 21 December at 5pm.
DUE to Umgeni Steam Railway’s annual Carols by Candlelight special steam train being fully booked on Saturday, 20 December, the company has decided to run an additional one on Sunday, 21 December, departing from the Kloof station at 5pm.
The train will run through the spectacular Valley of a Thousand Hills to Inchanga, where there will be a craft market, tea garden, museum and picnic site at the station. Refreshments will be on sale both on the train and at Inchanga.
Carols will be sung at the station soon after sunset, with candles and song sheets provided by the Inchanga Conservancy, who will also lead the singing.
On the return journey, enjoy the rare experience of night travel by steam train, arriving back at the Kloof Station at around 9pm.
Tickets cost R180 for adults or R130 for senior citizens and children under 12.
