Winston Park alleged robbers nabbed

Two alleged robbers were nabbed just moments after they attempted to rob a Winston Park home.

FOUR robbers didn’t make it far after they tried to rob a house on Jan Smuts Avenue in Winston Park on Wednesday, 3 December at about 1.20pm.

Steven King, from Waterfall Crime Watch and Secure Link, said four men entered the property and were armed with knives. It is believed it was only the gardener and domestic worker in the house at the time.

“When the alarm was raised by the gardener the alleged robbers fled into the valley towards Giba Gorge. Hillcrest SAPS, Shongweni K9 Unit, Blue Security, Enforce, Chubb, Secure Link, Metro Police Dog Unit , VEMA and neighbourhood watches responded to the attempted robbery,” he added.

After a lengthy search, two of the robbers were tracked down and arrested.

“The robbers are currently in the Hillcrest SAPS holding cells and the investigation is ongoing,” King added.
