Pupils say farewell to outgoing principal

Former principal, Diana Warwick, was treated to a Simply the Best farewell party at the school recently.

ATHOLL Heights Primary School in Westville hosted an evening of entertainment and fine food as members of the community, teachers, the Department of Education and family paid tribute to former principal, Diana Warwick, on her retirement.

An ardent F1 and Ferrari fan, Warwick arrived in style driven in a Ferrari 458 to be greeted by pupils and guests who formed a guard of honour.

Guests were then treated to a musical spectacular, Simply The Best, performed by pupils and staff of Atholl Heights Primary School. The show produced by Val Benjamin (acting vice principal) and assisted by Lloyd Wing (acting principal) and Jenny Message was as vibrant, colourful and uplifting as Warwick herself.

While the show was in progress guests were served a three-course meal, prepared by the catering staff at the school led by Janine Allorto.

The finale of the show was a heart thumping, emotional rendition of Tina Turner’s Simply The Best to which the entire audience rose to join with the cast to express their thanks for a wonderful lady.

At the end of the evening, the producer said: “When I first began working on this concert, I realised it is impossible to capture in one show, the essence of Mrs Warwick. I have tried to highlight aspects of her time here at Atholl Heights Primary School. There are however too many stories to tell, too many songs to sing and too many tributes to pay to this remarkable and incredible woman who is Simply The Best.”
