IT has been reported that a cow is being slaughtered in full view of the public in Bosse Street in New Germany.
Exact details are not yet available, but journalists are on route to the scene.
Local councillor, Rick Crouch, said it is illegal to slaughter in public.
“A permit has to be obtained from the eThekwini Health Department and there are a whole list of requirement that have to be adhered to,” he said in response to posts on a Facebook page in which people asked whether it is legal or not to slaughter a cow on the verge.
