VIDEO: The search for Chaka continues

Seven days later, Shongweni K9 Unit's Chaka is still missing.

IT’S a week today, since Shongweni K9 Unit’s Rottweiler, Chaka, went missing.

The Shongweni K9 Unit, SA Can, the Neighbourhood Watch Association, security companies, the SAPS, and volunteers have conducted an extensive search of the area, which unfortunately yielded no positive results as yet.

Andreas Mathios, executive board for Community Network and News (CC&N) and Together SA Can has compiled video footage of the search since the search began, to document the process.

“Chaka has been implanted with a microchip which will verify his identity if he is found and a reward will be given to the person or persons who assists in his recovery,” added Mathios.

Chaka, is a large Rottweiler (weighing approximately 50 kg), went missing while chasing housebreaking suspects in the vicinity of Wiltshire Road, off Hans Dettman Highway in Pinetown last Friday 17 October.

Anyone who has seen Chaka or might have a clue of his whereabouts is urged to contact the SA CAN Emergency Response and Prevention Centre on 086 167 2226.
