Chaka found dead on river banks

Police will be investigating the cause of Chaka's death.

The search for Shongweni’s K9 Unit’s Rottweiler ended today, when Chaka was found dead under some reeds on the river banks. According to Andreas Mathois of the Neighbourhood Watches Association, a search party made up of a group of volunteers went out this morning and made the unfortunate discovery. The K9 Unit will reveal a statement soon as they are currently investigating the cause of Chaka’s death. It is unconfirmed if the dog, who was missing for the past week, drowned or was killed.

  6. I was a member of the search party who found him on Sat. My heart was so sore watching Eliot being driven to the scene and emotional as he walked down the bank to the river to his beloved dog. Just tore at me heart and a sight I won’t forget. RIP beautiful Chaka and condolences to all who knew him.
