Inanda Valley children learn to swim

Rural children given the chance to learn to swim.

Mr Price Sport has teamed up with Swim SA and Durban Green Corridor to create the Mr Price Sport ‘Learn To Swim’ programme for disadvantaged children in the Inanda Dam area.

The swimming lessons will be given to children from schools in the Inanda Valley area at the eNanda Adventures site using inflatable pools and professional instructors and will give them a chance to learn a key life skill that so many of us take for granted and that could ultimately help save many young lives.

“Not only do you miss out on many experiences in life if you cannot swim but you also put yourself at danger. The number of drownings in dam and river side communities is alarming,” said Anna da Graca, Marketing Manager for Durban Green Corridor.

“DGC are proud to be a partner for this project as it fits so well with what we are all about – uplifting and upskilling local people living in rural areas along the Umngeni River Valley.”
