LEIGH Collingwood will speak on Why I have not been to a doctor for 20 years at the Durban Unitarian Fellowship service at 1 Baden Road in Westville on Sunday 26 October at 10am. Leigh, an author, has much to share on his experience of sustained health, which should be of interest to many. New faces are always most welcome and tea/coffee is served after the service.

KLOOF Rotary Business update meeting will be held at Kloof Country Club on Tuesday 28 October at 6pm. David White, MD of DRG Outsourcing, will present a talk titled, Entrepreneurism. This is a vital topic for so those looking to get ahead in life. There is no cost for admission, and snacks will be provided. THE South African Depression and Anxiety Group KZN branch is holding its monthly meeting on Tuesday 28 October at 6pm in Kloof. Join people in a similar position to receive non-judgemental advice. DURBAN Chamber of Commerce,Western Areas next guest speaker is Carlos Esteves, the deputy head: Road Systems Management at the eThekwini Transport Authority as well as project manager for GO! KZN Women in Business will hold its monthly networking breakfast at the Garden Court, Marine Parade in Durban on Thursday 6 November from 8am to 10.30am. Guest speaker is Mike Ivey. KWAZULU-Natal Branch of the South African Military History Society will meet at UKZN’s Murray Lecture Theatre, Department of Civil Engineering on the Howard College campus on Thursday 13 November at 7pm. The two speakers will be Major Dr John Buchan on Operation Torch, Gen Patton in North Africa and Bill Brady on Collapse in the West, 1940. EVENTS

SUPPORT the Cuppa for Cancer Fashion Show at Musketeers Restaurant (German Club), 7 Barham Road in Westville on Saturday 25 October at 10.30am. A variety of new and ‘once worn’ wedding, bridesmaid, formal/matric dress fashions will be on sale – all must be sold to raise money for the Cancer Association. Dresses are reasonably priced. DOONE Village will hold its annual Fete at Doone Village, Beare Drive, Pinetown on Saturday 25 October from 8am to noon. There are plenty of bargains for all as well as White Elephant, books and plant stalls. Refreshments available around the pool – egg and bacon rolls, hamburgers and Boerie rolls, ice cream and tea and cake in the Terrace Room. The art group will have an exhibition in the library and art will be on sale.

MARIANNHILL Monastery Family Market is back but this time it is bigger and better, with a variety of different stalls, entertainment and tours around the Monastery. The market takes place every Saturday from 9am to 1pm and is fun for the entire family.
